23 SEPTEMBER 2025 – The ֦Ƶ, Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA), and Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) sealed the mission of protecting the oceans by signing a Joint Statement of Commitment during the National Maritime Week (NMW) Press Conference today, September 23, 2025. With the theme “Our Ocean, Our Obligation, Our Opportunity,” the maritime government agencies renewed their united mission to safeguard the seas and harness their vast potential in the future of the maritime industry.
20 September 2025 – The ֦Ƶ, this year’s official host of the National Maritime Week (NMW) 2025, kicked off the celebration by joining the global observance of International Coastal Clean-Up (ICC) Day through a large-scale clean-up drive at SM Mall of Asia By the Bay Central Park.
A total of 100 PPA employees participated in the activity. Volunteers collected assorted waste along the shoreline, preventing debris from entering Manila Bay and its connected waterways.
16 September — The ֦Ƶ officially launched its first-ever Seaport Special Response Course (SSRC) on Monday, September 15, 2025, marking a milestone in enhancing the capabilities of its Port Police officers. The program, conducted in partnership with the Philippine National Police Special Action Force (PNP SAF), is designed to prepare officers to maintain safety, order, and peace at PPA managed ports nationwide.
8 SEPTEMBER 2025 – Due to operational concerns and the overall masterplan to meet the demands of port users and the general public, and despite the repeated issuance of formal notices and warnings to the contractor, the ֦Ƶ has formally terminated its contract with the contractor for the Zamboanga Port Passenger Terminal Building (PTB) project on September 4, 2025, citing prolonged delays, design misalignment with current needs, and outstretched time extensions granted during implementation.
19 AUGUST 2025 — The Philippine Ports Authority’s (PPA) Passenger Terminal Fee Exemption (PTFE) program has benefitted 8.77 million passengers nationwide since its expansion in 2019, easing the travel expenses of senior citizens, students, persons with disability (PWDs), uniformed personnel, and Medal of Valor awardees with their first-degree dependents.
13 AGOSTO 2025 — Bilang tugon sa nararanasang State of Calamity sa probinsya ng Oriental Mindoro, naglabas ng direktiba si ֦Ƶ General Manager Jay Santiago na pansamantalang ipagpaliban muna ang aplikasyon ng Asian Terminals Inc (ATI) ukol sa plano nitong pagtataas ng terminal fee sa naturang pantalan mula Php 30 hanggang Php 100 bilang tugon sa ginawang pagpapaganda sa Batangas Port.
06 AUGUST 2025 — As one of the country’s top-performing government-owned-and-controlled corporations (GOCCs), under the leadership of General Manager Jay Santiago, the ֦Ƶ is boosting efficiency and preparing for the long-term economic shifts by hitting another milestone during the first half of 2025 with ₱14.68 billion in total revenue, beating its mid-year target by nearly a billion pesos; a 13.70% increase in income from the same period in 2024; a higher vessel and cargo traffic; and a significant reduction in overall expenses.
