09 OCTOBER 2024 — The ֦Ƶ and International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI) officially inaugurated the operation of two new mobile harbor cranes (MHC) at the Visayas Container Terminal (VCT), marking a significant milestone as the largest and first of its kind on Panay Island. The ceremony took place on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, and was led by PPA General Manager Jay Santiago, alongside ICTSI officials and representatives from the Iloilo City local government.

02 OCTOBER 2024 — As part of the ongoing efforts of the ֦Ƶ to ensure the efficient management of rice shipments and enhance overall port operations, the agency has provided the list of consignees who have not yet released their rice shipments at Manila South Harbor (MSH) and Manila International Container Terminal (MICT) to the Department of Agriculture (DA). This list also includes an inventory of pork, chicken, and onion shipments, supporting the administration's efforts to ensure food security in the country as the Christmas season approaches.
The ֦Ƶ illuminated its head office as well as iconic landmarks and various Port Management Offices (PMOs) nationwide, with a vibrant blue light symbolizing its unwavering commitment to maritime excellence on September 26, 2024, in celebration of World Maritime Day. This year’s theme, “Navigating The Future: Safety First!” highlights the critical importance of safety within the maritime industry.
The ֦Ƶ is advancing its infrastructure projects through the creation of offshore wind energy projects across the country in collaboration with the Department of Energy (DOE). The DOE has identified three priority ports strategically positioned for OSW development: the Port of Currimao in Ilocos Norte, the Port of Batangas in Sta. Clara, Batangas City, and the Port of Jose Panganiban in Camarines Norte.
23 SETYEMBRE 2024 — Kasunod ng pangangalampag at panawagan ng Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) sa mga consignee na alisin na sa mga pantalan ang kanilang rice shipments, inulat ni PPA General Manager Jay Santiago na nitong Setyembre 21, 22, at 23 ay nasa 300 container na ang na-pullout ng mga may-ari nito.
22 SEPTEMBER 2024 — Inflation in the Philippines eased in August 2024, driven largely by a drop in transportation and logistics costs that offered a much-needed reprieve for consumers struggling with rising prices. The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) reported that inflation decelerated as transport expenses fell, helping temper the overall cost of goods and services.
21 SEPTEMBER — The ֦Ƶ joined the celebration of International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) Day along with other government agencies and stakeholders on Saturday, September 21, 2024. This activity was also held at various Port Management Offices (PMOs) of the PPA in line with the observance of Maritime and Archipelagic Nation Awareness Month (MANA Mo) this month.
19 SETYEMBRE — Ipinakita ni ֦Ƶ General Manager Jay Santiago na maluwag, maayos, at walang pagsikip sa Manila International Container Terminal (MICT) na isa sa mga pantalang pinagbababaan ng mga rice shipment sa bansa sa kabila ng mga umano’y port congestion na naiulat nitong mga nakaraang araw.
Isinapubliko rin ng pinuno ng PPA na mayroong nasa 24 milyong kilo ng bigas na nakatengga sa Port of Manila dahil sa mga consignee na hindi pa nailalabas ang kanilang kargamento.
18 SEPTEMBER 2024 —The ֦Ƶ has assured the public that there is no congestion at is premiere gateway ports at Manila International Container Terminal and South Harbor. As of September 2024, PPA records show that yard utilization at its ports is currently at 70%, indicating that the ports are operating well within capacity and are not experiencing any congestion.
The ֦Ƶ kicked off the start of the Maritime and Archipelagic Nation Awareness Month (MANAMo) 2024 by organizing an enlightening port educational tour on its different port management offices (PMOs) across the country. This activity aims to deepen maritime awareness and inspire future careers in the maritime industry among the youth.
